Examples of usage in a sentence: “His girlfriend was endlessly engaged in hermeneutic study.” Or; “while at school, he dabbled in hermeneutics but ended up majoring in leisure studies.”

Hermeneutics is the science of interpretation of texts. In a theological context, hermeneutics are concerned with scriptural texts and their interpretation. On the other hand, the secular meaning sees hermeneutics dealing with any type of written work.
