Car accidents? Over their dead bodies

There are causes worth dying for, but (a) they don’t come along very often, and (b) you die.
Luckily for the defender in you, there is Die-In 2008. According to the event’s website, a die-in is “a symbolic, theatrical event, much like a sit-in or bed-in.” The difference is that, instead of sitting or sleeping, participants play dead at a road intersection. To add realism to the scene, they are encouraged to bring props such as fake blood, bandages, and gas masks.
Slated to go down on Sept. 22 at Square Phillips, this year’s die-in is organized by a local cycling group called le Collectif Montréal a Vélo (MAV).
