A hundred demonstrators gathered in front of McGill University’s main gate on Sherbrooke West on Monday to show their support for the State of Israel during the conflict in Gaza. The public rally was organized by Hillel Montreal, McGill’s Jewish Student Union. The organizers said the rally’s message was to encourage Israel-supporters to share their spirit of moderation, education and peace. Those present chanted and held signs calling for the respect of human rights, better education and fair reporting. Montreal police and university security were present in small numbers at the event.
