Montreal stars busk for charity

Montreal’s usual metro buskers were shuffled aside March 2, as more recognized artists took their spots. During War Child’s Busking for Change, 30 Montreal artists including Mackenzie First, Creature, Amy Millan of Stars and Sébastien Lefebvre of Simple Plan performed at Place Des Arts and Berri-UQAM metros, and at the Eaton Centre.
The event 8212; held for the first time in Montreal 8212; was inspired by Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace who spent 12 hours busking on the streets of Toronto for War Child in October 2007.
Last year, the events in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver helped raise over $100,000 for war-affected children.
