Quebec Engineering Competition 2012 hosted by Concordia

The Quebec Engineering Competition is the most prestigious academic engineering event in Quebec. The theme of the 28th edition, “The End of the World,” explored the ability of an engineer to work with limited resources. Students from universities across Quebec were present on Jan. 27 at Concordia, showing off their creations and competing for top honours. Darko Bilic, from Universite de Sherbrooke, explained that his team’s device would generate hydro-electricity when placed in water, and could be used to replace diesel generators for homes or cottages. More information on the project can be found at http://www.projetmaelstrom.com.
