Students seek to diversify food choices

Concordia’s Muslim Students Association and the People’s Potato are aiming to provide a multicultural food service on campus.
This proposal is directly related to the success of a Halal food service in place during the month of Ramadan, the two groups stated in a press release. The service provided 350 meals daily using the facilities of the People’s Potato.
A permanent multicultural food service would require a space be set aside for it, not unlike the arrangement the People’s Potato is under.
Halal food is similar to Kosher food. It is free of pork and alcohol and animals are slaughtered in such a way to minimize suffering and ensure complete blood drainage.
