Andre Boisclair reflects on his new career

Andre Boisclair began teaching at Concordia this semester. The former Parti Quebecois leader is teaching Strategic Communication at Concordia's School of Public Affairs, along with former Liberal Party insider, John Parisella. According to Boisclair, the class is about "communication in the public sector, the private sector and the NGO sector [and will cover] internal and external communication, the media, the media's role [and] crisis management.

Navy steps up recruiting drive

The Canadian Navy opened one of their ships to the public this weekend. HMCS Charlottetown was the centerpiece of a military recruiting fair at the old port. The event, which was heavily advertised at Concordia, is part of the military's efforts to replace retiring solders and increase the total size of the Forces by 11,000 members.

Senate supports lifting of ban

The university senate voted against the emergency powers of the rector and the moratorium placed on Middle East issues in a meeting held last Friday. The motion to revoke emergency powers began a series of debates surrounding the events of Sept. 9 and resulted in a secret ballot that favoured the motion 14 votes to 12.
