In this week’s issue of The Concordian, the ISM article states that three Concordia students will be speaking about their experiences in Palestine. In fact, I am the only one out of the three of us who attends Concordia. Terek Loubani, a Canadian med school student from Halifax, and Juliana Friedman, a documentary filmaker from NYC, are the other two people who will be presenting a lecture about our experiences as volunteers with the ISM. As the moratorium is now lifted, it will be held in H 110. We will be showing footage of Jenin under siege.
Also, Clare misquoted me. The last thing I wanted to convey was that my purpose for being there was to make people ‘smile’.
This is partly my fault. I was very tired at the time and I should have been clearer. She also told me that it was for the link, but again, I could have misunderstood.
Finally, please come to the lecture. It is meant for all, and I hope that I will not be speaking only to a so-called pro-palestinian audience. It will not be ‘feeding the hate machine’, but promoting international participation in non violent direct action towards a brutal occupation.
