Proposal for the ‘Two Towers’ (TTT) party on December 18th, 2002.

TheOneRing.net, the largest Lord of the Rings fan site on the net has organized a line party section on our website, a line party is a pre-premiere party where fans can come together and express their interest in Lord of the Rings with like minded fans. Setup a database on the site where any fan from around the world can locate or create a line party in their local area; arrange times, dates and locations to meet with other fans, and send out newsletters to update people who have signed up with their particular party.

As one of the co-creators of the website, and the only one to live in Montreal (my three other partners live in America and New Zealand), I decided last year to have a large party at a bar located on the West Island, followed by the premiere of Fellowship of the Ring at the Famous Players in Kirkland.

The event was a huge success; we had over 100 people, with TV and news crews from the area interested in the event. The only downside was the fact that the cinema and the bar were rather far from each other and Famous Kirkland is a bit of a ways out for people who live downtown.

Back to the party itself, I currently have about 100 people signed up, as I have yet to go full steam with promotion of the party, I will send you a link via email to the line party section and my specific party. What we plan on doing that night at Guzzo is very simple, we want to watch the film! The bulk of the main events will occur pre-movie at Unisom, the bar next door to Guzzo St. Laurent. Last year we ran into problems when the gang of us showed up to get seats, Famous had refused to book us an entire cinema and we had to fight with non-line party people to get all my gang in 1 cinema, I would like to avoid this if possible. I know you need a certain number of pre-sold tickets to block off an entire cinema, this I can arrange if we decide to work together and Guzzo St. Laurent allows me to advertise in the theatre.

Look over the small details I have given you, and if you find this of interest I hope we can work together on having a really great night at the movies!
