A look back at the year that was

SEPTEMBER

This month set the tone of the year beginning with the announcement from Hillel that former Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu was invited to speak at Concordia. The violent protests on the Sept. 9, the day Netanyahu was to speak, grabbed national and international headlines when it forced Netanyahu to cancel. The protest, where two windows were broken, resulted in the arrest of five people.

The Board of Governors did little to quell tensions on campus when it placed a moratorium on public discussions concerning the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and banning all student tabling in the Mezzanine and Lobby of the Hall Building.
