Protestors get violent during March against World Trade Organization

For several months leading up to the World Trade Organization (WTO) Mini-Ministerial meeting in Montreal, the Popular Mobilzation Against the WTO (a group made of the who’s who of activists) had been promising to oppose and disrupt the 25 Trade Ministers and their delegates. But in the end they did little more than close several downtown blocks in Montreal, vandalize private property and once again call into question Montreal police tactics.

Under heavy security, the protestors gathered early in the morning on July 28 at Guy-Concordia and Philips Square and zigzagged their way through the streets of Montreal.
