Three out of four ain’t bad? That was the tune the Stingers were singing after a three point weekend which saw them tie Laurier 3-3 on Friday night, and beat Brock 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.
The boys in burgundy let it slide a little early Friday night. They got into a hole at 2:46 of the first when Golden Hawks’ Richard Colwill scored a power play marker.
The two teams battled hard, and around the halfway mark, Laurier’s Nick Van Herpt was given two minutes for hooking. That allowed veteran Stinger defenceman, Trevor Hawkins to notch the first goal on the night at 10:48 after a pass from Derek Legault.
