Back in 2003, Len Wiseman had a rather modest hit with Underworld. Just as his first movie was falling into oblivion, he strikes again with the sequel no one was expecting. an, quite frankly, one no one would have missed.
Underworld: Evolution picks up exactly where the first one ended. The blood war between vampires and werewolves, herein referred to as lycans, still rages on. Caught in the middle of it are Selene, a vampire, and Michael, a hybrid combination of both rival species. As a new kind of mutant, Michael takes full advantage of his newly-acquired condition, all the while trying to understand and control his new powers and urges. Still determined to avenge her family’s death, Selene will take her new sidekick on a mission that will unveil several secrets about the past of her species.
