Malajube

It’s not every day that a French band gets talked about in the English media but it’s not every day that a band like Malajube comes along. Whether reading the paper or flipping the television channels, the Montreal band is everywhere these days. Even before their sophomore record entitled Trompe L’Oeil was released two weeks ago, they had already become the band of the hour in Montreal. Last Tuesday, Malajube played a second sold-out show in a week at La Tulipe. The band’s drummer Francis Mineau took some time before their set to share his feelings about their recent success and the buzz currently surrounding the band.
