Lady Bees fall in home opener

Indiscipline, new rules and a slow start cost the Concordia Stingers the game in their home opening they lost 3-1 to the no. 7 ranked Ottawa Gee Gees on Saturday.

Three first period goals, including two power play markers put the Gee Gees ahead and they never looked back.

A minute and a half into the game, Ottawa captain Kim Kerr started off the scoring when she knocked in a rebound just nine seconds after Victoria Johnstone’s interference penalty started. Shortly after that, Concordia got into more penalty trouble when they had three players in the penalty box. After killing both 5-on-3’s, Ottawa struck when Josianne Garneau knocked the puck in after a scramble in front of Concordia goaltender Meggy Hatin-L
