Stingers redeemed in win over Gee Gees

After a nasty 7-1 drubbing at the hands of the UQTR Patriotes last Wednesday night, the Stingers redeemed themselves with their first win of the young season, beating the Ottawa Gee Gees 3-2 Sunday afternoon at the Ed Meagher arena.

“We played a 59 minute game,” said head coach, Kevin Figsby after the Ottawa game. The team allowed both Ottawa goals in exactly one minute, blowing a two-goal lead. They rallied early in the third, and assistant captain, and star player of the night, forward Trevor Blanchard notched a power play goal to seal the win for the Stingers.
