Stingers men’s hockey team struggles on road to close out first-half of their season

For the second weekend in a row, the powerhouse Far West division of the OUA got the best of the Concordia Stingers. On the road this past weekend in Waterloo against the University of Waterloo Warriors, and in London against the University of Western Ontario Mustangs, the Stingers lost both games. Friday night, the OUA-leading Warriors beat the Stingers 4-1.

Concordia’s goal was scored by rookie Chris Oles from Dave Coughlin and Jason Beliveau at 1:58 of the second period after a scoreless first period.

The Warriors would score two about a minute and a half apart later in the period, and add two more in the the third. Rookie defenseman Jesse Goodsell was given a 10 minute misconduct half-way through the third.

Saturday night, the Stingers took to the ice at the John Labatt Centre, where they lost to the Mustangs 7-1. All Mustang goals were scored by different players. Stinger goal was scored by Mike Halitzki on the power play, assisted by his linemates Simon-Pierre Sauv
