You’ve recorded and played so many covers, how do you decide on which song is for you?
I am fascinated by the way lyrics change when a woman sings a man’s song, so I start there. Then I see if the lyrics mean anything to me personally. You can’t really re-work something that is full of useless poetry, unless there’s some charm to it. I am getting away from doing covers though, because I’m starting to get a reputation as The Cover Girl.
