Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam (M.I.A.) is a British vocalist, songwriter, composer, record producer and visual artist of Sri Lankan Tamil origin. An early collaboration with Elastica’s Justine Frischmann to produce the artwork for the band’s second release and an introduction to a Roland sequencer by Peaches led the way for M.I.A.’s musical career.
