May late for own rally

About 30 supporters and candidates were anticipating the arrival of Green Party leader Elizabeth May at the Green Party rally held at Place Dorchester last Friday. She arrived late as she was on a media blitz all over Montreal. May spoke of her cross-country whistle stop campaign as a “family adventure” and scolded the rival candidates for not wanting her to participate in the debates before heading back on the train to continue the eastern core of her campaign.

Westmount Ville-Marie candidate Claude William Genest hosted the rally and stalled for time, admitting that May was behind schedule. “The Green Party is not the most organized. Organizing the Greens is like herding cats.”
