Sunset to Moonlight

My feet touch the sand, my eyes stare
at the peaceful sunset, I feel the tranquility
coupled with the soothing seas.
A moment today to experience a lifetime
My home, my sanctuary is not complete.

Seagulls sing, clouds part and
The Sun vanishes from sight. Moonlight
illuminates the sea, distant suns cover the sky.
I remain, waiting for the sign.

A rose held tight thorns vanquished from
display. Our place our time to relish
the power of bloom. Exquisite beauty
to hold secure and share.

I stay for the day till she comes.
I await in the sands of time,
for the last sunset to moonlit
night, evanescence to rise as one.
She will come.
