Get off your Arts

Monday, Nov. 25
Collectionneurs/Collectors opening @ VAV Gallery (1395 René Levesque W.), 6 p.m., free. Artists Chloé Desjardins, Anne-Marie Proulx and Étienne Tremblay-Tardif share space in an exhibition that “presents art practice as a research process.” Images of time, memory, women, and social relations make up the artistic landscape.

Wednesday, Nov. 27
An Ivigaren tradition @ La Ka’ma (142 Fairmount W.), 8 p.m. The women of Ivigaren are known for their colourful leather craftwork. But because of shrinking resources, they have resorted in recent years to reclaiming materials like plastic, old sweaters, and rice bags. Go see these colourful creations, participate in the discussion, and drink some hibiscus juice, served free of charge.
