Charities Face Financial Struggle

Canadian charities and non-profits are in for a difficult Christmas period due to the country’s financial crisis, according to Imagine Canada. On Nov. 21, the national charitable organization, which provides support to Canadian charities and non-profit organizations, sent a letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper urging the government to maintain current levels of funding to Canadian charities and nonprofits.

On Nov. 21, the national charitable organization, which provides support to Canadian charities and non-profit organizations, sent a letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper urging the government to maintain current levels of funding to Canadian charities and nonprofits. They recommended implementing short-term stimulative tax measures to encourage individual and corporate donations during these critical times.
“The ability of these organizations to deliver services and programs to Canadians may be at risk in light of the difficult economic circumstances,” said Marcel Lauzi
