Canadian charities and non-profits are in for a difficult Christmas period due to the country’s financial crisis, according to Imagine Canada.
On Nov. 21, the national charitable organization, which provides support to Canadian charities and non-profit organizations, sent a letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper urging the government to maintain current levels of funding to Canadian charities and nonprofits. They recommended implementing short-term stimulative tax measures to encourage individual and corporate donations during these critical times.
