Homeless art festival takes over Berri square

Homeless urbanites camp out in a makeshift shelter downtown for Action Terroriste Socialement Acceptable’s (ATSA) State of Emergency event. The “manifestival,” held from Nov. 26 to 30, marks the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The camp, set up at Place Émilie Gamelin, near Berri-UQAM metro station, offers free arts programming revolving around the Declaration, and shelter for the city’s homeless. ATSA is a non-profit known for organizing urban interventions to increase awareness about social and environmental issues.
