Eyes of Stillness

Water trickling from the shores of bliss,
I see the bright blue eyes,
Ones I have seen in the mist
Of yesteryear.

She stares back but doesn’t
Know the heart that beats within.
I only produce silence as she
Glances in my direction.

To have just one occasion
Would mean the stars converge.
But the shadow of the Moon
Covers the Sun.

I envision the happy life that could
Have been, the euphoria
That would have been experienced,
If only I had moved my lips to
Speak.
