Cyclists protest tarsands

About 75 people biked to the Petro-Canada and Suncor Oil Refinery in east Montreal April 1 as part of “Fossil Fools Day.” The event was organized by Climate Justice Montreal to protest oil companies that are involved in the tarsands and have facilities in Montreal. During the ride a banner was dropped across Sherbrooke Street, where an oil pipeline is situated, blocking traffic for 20 minutes. The participants had a picnic lunch on the lawn of Petro-Canada before biking back downtown.
