About 40 protesters gathered Friday in front of the Suncor refinery in Pointe-Aux-Trembles, calling for Canada’s largest oil refinery to end its collaboration with a state-owned company in Syria. The Montreal-founded and Calgary, Alta.-based company has come under fire over their involvement in a natural gas joint venture with a state-owned Syrian company. Syria’s dictatorial regime has left more than 2,000 dead in the past five months, according to recent reports by Al-Jazeera.
