Wanting to forget last weekend’s games, the Concordia Stingers women’s hockey team took to the ice Friday night hoping to give their home fans a good show. They came close, losing 5-3 at the hands of the Montréal Carabins.
Ending the month of October on a high note was almost accomplished, as the Stingers were just two minutes away from pulling off an upset to send their game against the cross-town McGill Martlets to extra time. It was all for nought, sadly, as the Martlets prevailed 5-3 on two late goals. The game was a huge contrast compared to the season opener in which McGill won 8-1 at Ed Meagher Arena.
Following a week of strong practices and rigorous workouts, the Stingers women’s hockey team lost a hard-fought battle at the hands of the Montreal Carabins Friday.
Next Monday, a blood drive will be held at Concordia’s Loyola Campus parking lot at 7141 Sherbrooke St. W. from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 12:30 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Sporting a revamped look with many new faces, new jerseys, and a new team, the Concordia Stingers women’s hockey team took to the ice Saturday afternoon at Ed Meagher Arena, dropping 8-1 at the hands of their cross-town rivals, the McGill Martlets.
