The 2006 Quebec Writer’s Federation (QWF) Awards Gala was held last Wednesday night at le Lion d’Or -a downtown theatre space. Guests arrived to the head-swaying sounds of Montreal trio Jazz-a-licious. The room filled up to near capacity with what was, apparently, the largest crowd the QWF Awards has ever received.
The evening’s affairs were introduced by QWF President Derek Webster as an open call to celebrate Quebec’s English-language writers, and specifically for the writers to celebrate themselves.
