time OUT

There's nothing like going on a three hour drive to Quebec City. I did last Friday, to watch the Stingers take on my beloved Laval Rouge et Or. Despite the fact that we lost both games (being the second time that this has happened with yours truly in attendance, suspicion is beginning to rise that I might be some form of bad luck charm), I couldn't prevent myself from being at least modestly entertained by the grand spectacle that encompasses basketball games at the PEPS.

Plight of the Spoonman

For many people, especially students, the surrounding environment is something that becomes an integral part of one's existence. There is a certain degree of comfort in knowing that something, or someone, will always be there to remain a consistent part of our lives, unless of course we decide we want them, or it, to cease from being such.

time OUT

The "Happy New Year!" that I send to all of you this week is accompanied by a certain degree of melancholy as, I'm sad to say, this is the beginning of the end. This issue kicks off the last semester of TimeOut as you've known it for some time now. With this being my last semester you may be asking yourself: "Will that dork wearing the glasses finally reveal himself to be the self-righteous, egotistical narcissist that we know he really is deep down?"

Aftershock: Reaction to the tsunami disaster

With the death toll resulting from the Dec. 26 Tsunami now surpassing 155,000 casualties, and the various locations affected so far out of our reach, those wanting to lend aid to the helpless are, in fact, feeling incredibly helpless themselves.

Cheating prevention failing Dear Editor, This semester the school decided to impliment new exam regulations to curb cheating. Well I have to say that even though they are supposed to curb cheating, people still manage to do it. I was writting a final and a saw someone cheating; this person didn't even get noticed by the invigilators.

A bump in the road to a career in Journalism

There comes a certain time for almost every university student when you question if you're in the right program. After all, it is natural to ask: Is this something that you're really going to want to do with the rest of your life? Will you get bored? Are you any good at it? These are questions I posed to myself a couple years ago and I didn't necessarily like all the conclusions I came to.

"[Ellison] got to fulfil a childhood dream." In any other profession, Andrew would be considered insane. Someone being butchered and bloodied is not something worth praise, and certainly not something that one should strive to do. Wrestling is a tragic form of entertainment.

conU CONFIDENTIAL

She's eccentric, playful, and incredibly mysterious. Get ready to be blown away by this actress' stunning good looks and her wild and child-like imagination.

time OUT

Before last Sunday it had been over a year since I had the unfortunate pleasure of climbing up the heart attack inducing mountain that leads to McGill University's sports facilities. O.K., maybe that's an exaggeration, but it's the closest many of us will ever come to needing an oxygen mask to get up a hill.

Attention Sociology and Anthropology Student Union Executive, We are sociology students who are deeply concerned with the ill-planned and questionable fee levy we were asked to vote on last week. The proposed fee levy is questionable in its ultimate purpose, but more importantly the way the fee levy vote was held is deeply mired in inconsistencies warranting great concern.

time OUT

It was a really, really, really bad couple of days for football this weekend in Montreal. I mean, it's not so horrible that the Als lost, (aside from the fact that they lost to "the T.O.") we've been spoiled in the past with those guys, but having to watch the Laval Rouge et Or continue their march towards another Vanier Cup is truly gag worthy.

fashion 101

I must say that I'm quite proud of the way most people dress at Concordia. I have visited other schools and I truly think that we are the best dressed students in the province. There are a few exceptions though. One of the biggest fashion faux pas committed at this university involves footwear.
